What's the difference between an old, damaged $50 bill and a brand new $50 bill?
Nothing.
A $50 bill is a $50 bill no matter how old or damaged.
The same is true for art.
If a priceless piece of art is dirty, or damaged, it is still priceless.
And careful attention will be given to its restoration, to return its former beauty.
Yet with damaged people we do the opposite.
We discard damaged people and discount their value.
Everyone in your organization is valuable and can be restored to a better or best version of themselves. Treat others as valuable and their needs as important.
Everyone matters and is valuable.
